Hardwood planks are the wide, representative form of classic parquet – offering a generous room feel, natural elegance and timeless quality. At Holzboden Direkt you'll find hardwood planks in widths from 120 mm to over 260 mm in wood species such as oak, smoked oak, walnut, cherry and maple. The range includes 3-layer, 2-layer and genuine solid hardwood planks.

The key advantage is their appearance: wide boards with a pronounced natural grain make rooms feel more spacious and vibrant. Multi-layer hardwood planks offer excellent dimensional stability – they move less than solid wood and are ideal for underfloor heating. With a wear layer of 4–6 mm, they can be sanded multiple times.

European oak is the most popular choice: its warm golden-brown tone and characteristic grain suit almost any interior style. Smoked oak delivers deep chocolate tones for modern concepts. Surface options include natural oil, white oil, UV lacquer and brushed textures.

Three installation methods are available: floating click, full-surface glued or nailed. Allow 48–72 hours for acclimatisation and maintain room humidity between 45–60 %.

Oiled hardwood planks need re-oiling once or twice a year. For daily cleaning, a slightly damp microfibre cloth or specialist wood floor cleaner is sufficient. Lacquered boards are easier to care for – a dry mop is all you need.
